About Walkie Talkie

Beverly Hills, California based Walkie Talkie has worked with eminent producers such as Mick Taylor (Stones), Pete Droge (Thorns), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religon), Kathy Valentine (Go-Go's) and John Hanlon (Neil Young Engineer/Producer). Their Debut Album "School Yard Rhymes" was both nationally and internationally released in 1997 on Laundry Room Records and charted on numerous college radio stations across the United States. The Laundry Room Records label began as a shared endeavor by Barratt Jones (Foo Fighter producer) and Justin Goldberg (a former Sony Music executive).

Band members Dani Francis and Jim Lacey-Baker are often compared to The Velvet Underground, Wilco, Dinosaur Jr., The Flying Burrito Brothers, Son Volt, Fleetwood Mac, X, and Jimi Hendrix by the press, Walkie Talkie's earthy sound and vibe fits the Americana genre like a well worn glove.

Returned from 2 1/2 weeks in Seattle recording with producer Pete Droge, at his Puzzle Tree Studio. Mixing of 7 masters is underway. Songlist: One More Fix, Wisdom For The Fooled, Stop Dragging Me Down, Something’s Wrong, Carolina, Do What You Do & Good Time. Phase 1 of our record is proving to be an exceptional collaborative effort. Pete added to the magic with tasty vocal & guitar tracks. More to follow…

GEMS

You guys were amazing at GEMS this weekend. I loved your preformance!!! Everyone should check this band out live.

Good Stuff!

I love the balance between acoustic sensibilities and high quality studio production techniques. You'll hear the X influence.
