TJWAY lives in Ontario, Canada, and started her songwriting carreer when she was about thirteen years old. When being asked about her major influences she names Elvis Presley, Anne Murray, Paul Anka, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and many more. She not only writes beautiful songs from Country to love ballads but also manages and produces Valerie Lynn, a very talented Country singer born in Dallas, Georgia. Both are members of "The Soul Touchers", together with Erin Simms who also is a songwriter and participates in this group as instrumentalist, singer and background singer. TJWAY not only has received numerous awards for her outstanding songwriting but is also successful in her second passion, photography. Exception: "If I could make a difference". The sample is a little too short and faded out before the bridge. I would have wished to be able to listen at least to part of the bridge, too. TJWAY's songs are all reflecting on experiences in life, telling of feelings, broken hearts and neverending love. From mainstream Country ("Love" and "There's still Life in me") via love songs ("Deeply Falling", "I know" and "Tomorrow doesn't wait") to touching and dreamy ballads ("Where were you", "Love is all a Child needs", "Going 2 Heaven where Angels go" and "It's what you leave behind") she covers all kinds of feelingful music. Even though all songs are listed in the "Country" genre I must say that the majority of songs are not what "Mr. and Mrs. Everydaymusiclistener" would expect when hearing "Country". I'd say that at least 75 to 80% of all songs can be honestly recommended to non-Country-lovers. Really wonderful ballads with touching lyrics. Every song tells its own story. With Valerie Lynn she has found a great performing artist to deliver the tiniest nuances of feeling, pain and joy. A fascinating voice with timbre and a nice vibrato. With Erin Simm's backing vocals and instrumental performance TJWAY's songs are perfectly completed. BTW!! Don't miss Valerie Lynn’s Debut Album Titled “Deeply Falling” to be released in 2006, which will be produced by her Manager TJWAY. Well, if there's light, there is shadows, too. Unfortunately "Where were you" and "Love is all a Child needs" didn't make it to convince me. In these two songs I think TJWAY didn't use everything she's got. Lyrics are great as they are in all other songs, but arrangement and vocal lines feel somehow flat, as if not finished. I miss something without being able to name it. Furthermore I noticed that the piano in "Where were you" is sort of working against the song instead of assisting it. Just a few short moments in the song, but it felt disturbing (timing, flow). RESUMÉ: Great song writing, professional arrangements, touching lyrics and two musical partners who are great performers. My recommendations to listen to: "I Know": A wonderful ballad, assisted by feelingful played piano and great choir-like backing vocals. Makes you dream of your babe!! "Going 2 Heaven where Angels go": A really very sad song with very sad lyrics. This song really touched me deeply. I'm no organ fan, but the church organs in this song...well...nothing else would or could fit better to assist the expression of this wonderful ballad! Great choir in the background, nice piano. "It's what you leave behind": Really great lyrics which make you think. I wished there were a lot more people with this opinion!!! Another great and touching ballad with perfect acoustic guitar sound. "Tomorrow doesn't wait": The title says it all! Use your time, don't waist it! Very nice acoustic ballad with dreamy melody. Very nice!!! SOUNDCLICK VALERIE LYNN: You'll find all songs mentioned above, plus several others. Well, I'm supposed to write a review about TJWAY's music but of course I checked the other links, too. Check out the A Capella song "Amazing Grace" on Valerie's page!!! Jesus Christ, what a beautyful voice!!!! I'd also like to mention that Valerie not only has a wonderful voice but quite a songwriting talent, too. Great artist! Check out her page! ERIN SIMMS: Erin not only added her great backing vocals to TJWAY's music and Valeries vocals but is a great solo performer and songwriter herself!!! Very nice bluesy feeling in her voice which sometimes reminds me a little of Norah Jones. Her songs are a touch more modern in recording techniques and sounds. Definitely worth a visit!!! THE SOUL TOUCHERS: A song collection of all three artists/songwriters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm no Country fan, but it was a real pleasure to visit your page, TJWAY.
