In the beginning i started watching 'American Bandstand' with an uncle when i was seven or eight . I watched stars like 'Chuck Berry',' Frankie Avalon',' Little Richard' ,'Fats Domino' and others.I was born in a small steel town called middletown,ohio twenty five miles south of Dayton and twenty five miles north of cincinnati .My mothers side of the family were the musical side of my family,my mother is a gospel singer and plays piano,my three aunts played piano & organ and sang in church,my five uncles played horns, sax, trombone and trumpet,my oldest sister played violin,my little brother started on sax.My family moved to georgia for a couple of years,that's where my father is from . I was introduced to the guitar at age nine by a friend from georgia,he taught me part of a song called 'Honky Tonk' .I took it more serious at twelve when my family moved to dayton,ohio, a larger city and popular music city.At the time there were many entertainers,bands,singers,shows and major artist living there and others coming to town to perform.I started into the gospel first because of all the quartets,quintets and sextet gospel singing groups in the area performing with guitar,bass & drums.Some of my friends relatives were in famous gospel recording groups. I would go to gospel shows or programs as they use to call them,after seeing and hearing the groups i became hooked on playing guitar and singing.
