WaterMarks is not an anti war song. This is a pro peace song. The song does raise questions of what mankind, especially Americans since I am one, have really learned over the last century. The song is reinforced with spoken words quotes of various presidents past and present. Some of them clearly laid out guidelines as a reaction to having witnessed first hand the spoils and horrors of war. Others clearly did not get the message. Through it all, however, it is absolutely amazing how humans continually endure and get through these atrocities. The introspection of human kind’s endurance is the heart of this song.

I must confess, as an American I do not understand our mixology of guns and Jesus. How on earth can those mix? We keep hearing about a greater good. Yet teachings of the concept of greater good describe a sense so pure it does not even hold evil as an opposite. It can’t because it is pure good. Greater good.

With that said, we have a greater chance of bringing an end to war by adopting concepts of pro peace as opposed to anti war. The later is somewhat exclusionary and we need to unite. Such unification can also support troops who have given all they have and all that they are.

So, if this song has evoked any appreciation, or if it is hated for the same provocations, I hope it will be passed along and that people may give a buck to one of the organizations that truly work on concepts of greater good, rehabilitation, and peace.

Should you make a donation, simply mention dream kitchen somwhere. We want people to know that music can make a difference and encourage more musicians and poets to do the same. Complaceny is not a solution.

all the best
