User Page: Steven Paul Perry's Details

I'm a guy who never quit.
On the Boston music scene.
a known guitar ace from 1974 to 1991.
before some health challenges postponed my career for a few years
Now I'm out there again..

Highlights: at age 19, left Berlkee college of Music
to join my favorite local band at the time, Orchestra Luna

at age 21, I politely said no to Meatloaf's offer to tour,
out of my artistic devotion to Orchestra Luna,
the project that Rick Berlin & I turned into a Rocknroll theatre
phenomenon
In Boston and and NYC. That band became Luna, then Berlin Airlift,
and I began writing during the last band- Rick Berlin: the Movie.

Left in '87 to form my own band.
Found out I was HIV POS. Perfectly healthy, I pressed on.
Playing the songs I was writing with my new band, and my next band.
Then, came an offer to audition. 3 weeks later I was playing guitar
on tour with John Hiatt! across American and Canada.
Then Home and in the studio recording my next batch of songs.
in April '91 toured Australia/New Zealand w Hiatt & Robert Crey.
Came back home from the Austrailian tour and found out I technically had an
AIDS diagnosis.
Still not sick, I pressed on. One more original band project, then I joined TH
& the Wreckage
Recorded with Tom Hambridge on the CD "Still Standing"

Then a few years and cover bands later, In '96 I was in chemotherapy for non-
hodgekins Lymphoma.
I wasn't about to leave this planet without a hit song, decided
to "Stick Around"

I was "out of the scene" for awhile, but writing, recording, building my home
studio.
In '02, 03 I went thru another cancer,chemo, I recovered fully.

Thanks to my family, friends, doctor, and music. Yeah life is worth fighting
for.

Even during chemo , I had the pleasure of sitting in with James
Montgomery,

then just as I recovered,an east coast mini- tour with Jon
Butcher

Now I am all the way back "in". I have more songs than will fit on one CD
that we perform live.

Yeah, I'm just finally getting it out there.
Performing with a band who knows how to play my songs with passion.
I've got a scene going that is about guest artists joining me & the band,

making a unique cast of players each time we perform.
Future plans include adding more songs by local artists-there's so many good
ones ! Having those artists guest with us, always an
event. Check here or www.myspace.com/stevenpaulperry

for show listings as they are booked..

Nice work -- connects.

Make it or break it, right?

Keep it honest and real, that's a plan.

More lyrics, dig it up, music, mix it up.

-- Regards!
