About The Rhythm Child Network

Being a singer, performer, and hand drummer for over 20 years, I naturally searched the children’s marketplace for CD’s and accessories that reflected the desire to expose my son to sounds and rhythms from different parts of the world.  What I found was that there was a growing interest in having kids listen and learn about the music of other cultures, but there were not many opportunities to experience the power of that music first hand.

With this, my wife Heather and I formed The Rhythm Child Network to inspire an environment that allows for young children to come in direct contact with the pulse of drum-based music.  It is this type of relationship that the Rhythm Childä concerts, CD’s, school programs, and family drum circles hope to pass on by merging various styles of contemporary grooves with the sound of primal drums and adding familiar melodies and lyrics into a collection of fresh and unique themes that offer an alternate approach to the way our children understand music.

At the core of the network, we have formed strong alliances with some of the leading companies in the advancement of cultural awareness and positive music for kids.  Through the cooperation and support of these companies, The Rhythm Child Network has continued to grow and become a source of information to parent’s and their children.

Putumayo World Music plays a very important role in our vision because of their ability to bring new and exciting releases to the public on a consistent basis which then gives our events an ever evolving soundtrack of culture and diversity.

REMO Drums & Percussion, an ambassador for children’s drumming, has been a valued supplier of most of the instruments that we use including my lead djembe, kid lollipop drums, sound shapes, and various shakers. Whacky Music (Boomwhackers) and Sageman Drums (wooden djembes) are 2 other instrument companies that we have the distinct pleasure of working with.

As always, The Rhythm Child Network continues to promote its own branded Rhythm Childä music, clothing, videos, and instruments.  All of these products and images are offered as encouragement for children to form a lasting relationship with music and the drums, as well as, helping parents and caregivers find a way to incorporate this new found rhythm into their family life.

Stay close by because we are constantly watching the children’s market to find new and innovative products to bring in. Every product that is available through Rhythm Childä has been thoroughly tested and approved by thousands of participating audiences.

I see the drum as a tool for life lessons and building group interaction. There is no right or wrong way to express your nature through the drum ... just open up and let the rhythm flow.
