About The Casual Fiasco
"Listen Up!" -Relix Magazine
"One of VT's 5 bands to see..." The Burlington Free Press
"Jam-Packed...Burlington's fast-rising roots rockers... influenced as much by The Beatles, Talking Heads and Paul Simon as by Nectar's homeboys Phish." The Burlington Free Press
"recalls bands like The Police and G. Love... If you haven't seen these guys yet, do yourself a favor" UVM Cynic
Part rock and part reggae-flecked jam-pop, The Casual Fiasco has a sound that most fans can’t seem to categorize. Transmitting a sound t hat owes as much to James Taylor and Paul Simon as it does to heroes like the Talking Heads, Police, Dispatch, G Love and Allman Brothers. The Casual Fiasco combines quirky lyrics and three part harmonies with a roots-rock flavor to create a sound that is entirely their own, while the energy at their live shows leaves audiences wanting more. The Burlington, VT quartet has been taking the Northeast by storm, playing over 300 shows at colleges, prep schools, and nightclubs while sharing the stage with acts like Toots and the Maytals, the Slip, North Mississippi Allstars, Tea Leaf Green, the Big Wu, Cat Empire, State Radio and Zox. The Fiasco will be performing at venues including the Tribeca Rock Club (NYC), The Call (RI), the Middle East (MA) and Higher Ground (VT) on their upcoming fall tour, with shows at schools such as Union College, Hobart-William Smith, Champlain and Princeton, to name a few. The Casual Fiasco spent much of 2005 as the band-in-residence at the legendary Nectar's in Burlington, VT.
In December 2005 The Casual Fiasco will release the EP "Body Over Mind" with producer Jack Gauthier (Dispatch, David Grisman); a showcase for the Fiasco's reggae infused sound, the EP features several tunes that have become concert staples for the band and their fans. The Fiasco's 2004 release (Prototype) showcases a young band on the rise, still discovering their sound, and features 3 tunes that found rotation on college and non-commercial radio across the country. The Casual Fiasco have been featured online at FreshTracksMusic.com and AwareStore.com, and have sold more than 3,000 independent albums at shows and online, largely through word of mouth, while the intensity of their live shows continues to build.
With a growing fanbase, an active street team, and a dedication to touring, The Casual Fiasco shows no signs of slowing down. For more information, including music, video, tour dates, and band updates, visit www.TheCasualFiasco.com
