About Taxi Doll

Fate works in mysterious ways, especially in the vast expanse of Los Angeles. But that is exactly what happened in when a euro-transplant, a local producer/remixer, and a drummer were introduced to each other at just the right moment in time
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you TAXI DOLL:
Gregg Allen a.k.a g-dub -- Keyboards /Producer
Dhana -- Vocals
Jason Graham--Drums
Brian Hendrix-- Bass
Matt Emmer-- Guitar
The Past: It was late 2004 when European born Dhana Taprogge, fresh to Los Angeles, was looking to innovate a new kind of music, blending her European style with traditional pop rock and cutting edge electronic music.
Gregg Allen had also been looking for a singer to write songs with; a local LA boy who grew up in the SKA scene of the 80s and 90s, with a strong knowledge of digital recording/production, and desire to take his music in a fresh new direction, all he needed was the voice.
There is some truth in the cliché; it is who you know in Hollywood. For it was the introduction by mutual friend Ken "Joy" Hankins, that triggered the ride. They had the same vision, same tastes, loved Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, No Doubt & Depeche Mode etc...Joy added, all I had to do was connect the dots. Dhana agrees, I knew it when we wrote our first song together; this was something special. It was like we were finishing each others sentences musically! Gregg adds, We wanted to make rock music that you can dance to. Soon after, Dhana and Gregg went to see a local concert of Supreme Beings of Leisure, and in a happy accident met SBLs hired touring drummer Jason Graham after the show. "I got really turned on to electronic music on this tour and after hearing Dhana and Greggs first few tracks I knew it was the next step for me." With little effort the newly formed Taxi Doll completed the band (again with only a few degrees of separation) in finding ace bassist Brian Hendrix and master sound experimentalist-guitarist, Matt Emmer. Both looking to create a new sound of rock and electronica, or as the band calls it Rocktronica.
The Future: Only in a short year and half the Taxi Doll gang made their mark in LA and now have the world in their sites. After numerous TV and Film placements and a tremendous response to "Waiting", the flagship Taxi Doll track, on the Billboard dance charts, the band has signed a worldwide deal with Universal Records. The band is currently working on finishing a full-length debut album, and rehearsing for a series of tours to support the official release of the "Waiting" single this fall in North America and Europe.
Get in, buckle up, and let Taxi Doll take you for a ride!
