About Lotus
Lotus is a five-piece instrumental band from Philadelphia. Their music is highly tempered by electronic styles such as deep house and drum 'n bass, but inside the sonic layers seep heavy doses of jazz, funk, and world music. Their high energy live shows feature tightly composed material balanced with stretched out improvisation. The sounds shift from spiritual and meditative to jubilant and energetic from dark dance floor burners to spaced-out waves of ambiance.

Winter Tour Announced, Make Your Own Lotus Remix

This winter Lotus will head south for the Copy, Paste, Repeat Tour. In conjunction with the tour Lotus is proud to be the first jamband to release studio multi-track sessions of a song to the public so you can make your own remix. More details below.
We are happy to have Telepath (www.telepathmusic.com) along for the ride opening all the shows on the tour! Telepath is one of the hottest new bands on the scene, and is featured .., Paste, Repeat, Lotus Remixed. The Asheville-based trio combines the sounds of downtempo, dub, and breakbeat and will envelope you in a lush, groove-happy dance-blanket. Get there early to catch these talented cats.
The tour officially begins January 23 with a return to Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC. Stops along the way include returns to favorite venues such as the Orange Peel in Asheville, Georgia Theatre in Athens, the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, the Pour House in Charleston, Newby's in Memphis, and closing out the tour at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD.
We have a lot of new places for this tour as well. On the docket are first time performances at the amazing Granada Theater in Dallas, two nights at Club 115 in Austin, first time visits to Tallahassee at the Beta Bar, New Orleans at the Blue Nile, George's Majestic in Fayetteville, AR and The Dame in Lexington, KY, and a show at the new Satellite Ballroom in Charlottesville, VA. All dates are listed below.

Make Your Own Remix
It was a pleasure and perspective-building experience putting together the new remix album, Copy, Paste, Repeat. We really enjoyed hearing different people's takes on Lotus, and how their ideas collided with ours. So we decided to open up the experience to everyone out there. Lotus is releasing the studio multi-tracks of Bubonic Tonic to the public. If you are a Mac user you can download the GarageBand files, hit the spacebar, and start tinkering. We also have the wave files available that can be set-up in almost any programs, PC or Mac. (programs like Logic, Ableton Live, Cakewalk, ProTools, etc)
So make your own remix, mash it up with another song, sing new lyrics, rhyme over the beat, put in your own guitar solo, or just check out how the song was put together. Once you have something you like share it with the Lotus community. Bounce it down to an mp3 and email your creation to remix@lotusvibes.com. We will feature songs on the Lotus site. If you an experienced knob-twiddler, or just messing around with music for the first time give it a shot, and show off what you created.

New Years Run Updates
A couple updates to this upcoming New Year's Run...the last Lotus dates of '07! The 12/28 Milwaukee, WI show will be opened by Chinese Finger Trap (www.fingertrapmusic.com), and the 12/31 Pittsburgh, PA extravaganza will be opened first by Bohemian Bottom Orchestra, followed by Symmetrical Kickboxing. Also please note that the 12/29 Chicago late night show will sell out in advance. So if you don't want to get shut out, buy your ticket now.
