About Krysta Scoggins

By nature vibrant and exuberant, Krysta was raised in two great hockey towns, first residing in Fort Saskatchewan and then later moving to Mannville, Alberta. She began building her musical identity at a very young age; learning to play the piano and guitar, performing for large crowds by the age of 5 and evolving into a songwriter at the age of 13.

After graduating from Mannville High School, Krysta enrolled in Music Education at Red Deer College and then transferred to the University of Alberta. During those post secondary years she also juggled being the lead singer of the country group "52nd Street".

In a very short time Krysta has built an impressive list of achievements; Showcasing for the Canadian Country Music Association; performing at the Big Valley Jamboree, Calgary Stampede and Tootsies Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee, and opening shows for such artists as Patricia Conroy, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, David Lee Murphy, Jason McCoy, Brad Johner and Alan Frew (Glass Tiger). Her dynamic vocals also ensured her a spot on the Canadian Military Christmas Show Tour, which travelled across the globe to Israel and Egypt to perform not only for our Canadian troops but also for the United Nations soldiers as well.

This debut album is a reflection of Krysta as both an artist and as a person. "I wanted to make an album with an upbeat, fun flavor to it and to have songs that make people want to sing along." Krysta delivers slow songs with messages that deliberately have an emotional impact on her listeners and fast tunes to party to on a Saturday night.

Krysta had the honor of working with one of Nashville's award winning producers, Craig White of Curb Records. White has engineered projects for many high profile artists from Shania Twain to Hank Williams Jr. After just one meeting, White was ready to take on the Canadian winter and the long commute to Alberta in order to make sure that this album portrayed the very soul of Krysta's music. "I feel very blessed to know that Craig believed in me enough to help make my dream a reality." Krysta reflects.
