Kay Foster Jackson

Kay Foster Jackson is an international recording artist who has extensively been performing throughout Europe while participating in numerous Jazz, Gospel, and Blues festivals. Born in Nashville, TN, Kay has been positively impacted by the  constant influences of world-renowned talent during the formative years. Her parents were musically gifted; her father is Melvin Jackson the Tenor Saxophonist accompanying the Legendary B.B. King and Bobby Blue Bland. Her mother, Mary Ann Jackson, is also a jazz vocalist and dancer who traveled extensively in bands that included Elvis Presley. With a deep sultry, yet warm and crystal clear voice, her jazz roots bring an expressive energy to the interpretation of song.  Ms. Jackson uniquely emphasizes the melodic lines with a very personal approach that involves and fascinates the audience. 

_{Kay has two CD’s to her credit My Favorite Things (August 2002) and Hold On (October 2000). As a vocalist has collaborated with Mariah Carey, Wilson Pickett, Bo-Diddley, Kenny Neal, Billy Branch, Pee Wee Ellis, Sandra Hall, Peaches Staton, Scott Henderson, Clark Terry, and The Swinger’s Big Band.  Her band has opened concerts for Dee-Dee Bridgewater in Bordeghera, Italy and B.B. King in Milan, Italy.}

Ms. Jackson has made her living for the past ten years exclusively in Europe performing for audiences of thousands and private clients. It has been her distinct pleasure to perform on the stage of the most prominent theaters, festivals, and  churches. A few are listed below

With a strong technical background, Kay sings with a great sense of division. Kay Foster Jackson is an artist who marries personality, feeling and poetic sense, to a vocal style based on “chiaroscuri” (the shadings, dark and light, of the compositions).  Another refreshing aspect of Kay’s performance is the educational component.  Kay reveals the story behind the songs and commits to recalling the path and history of several of the great jazz divas...Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McCrae, Shirley Horn, as well as many of the new artists.

The most prominent Italian Singer in Cremona, Mina has bestowed the title of “The Black Panther of Cremona” to Kay Foster Jackson.  Kay has a style that is all her own. When you see Kay you see light… her voice allows you to feel everything she has ever known, and when she is done …you still feel loved.
