British and Irish folkrock with guts and atmosphere is the trademark of FolkPort. Their varied musical concept covers everything between punchy trad.- and dancetunes and poetic ballads and instrumentals.
With their unique joy in performance, relaxed stage presence and a perfect mix between their own and more traditional music, FolkPort creates a mutual music pub mood. Whether it’s on a large festival stage or at a smaller concert venue doesn’t matter. It happens every time. You can set your mind at peace with epic ballads or sing along to nasty drinking tunes but you will surely not be able to sit still when FolkPort stir up their punchy dancetunes, jigs & reels.
After some years on the road with their music FolkPort is a band in demand for festivals and concert venues in Norway and abroad and they performed at their third Skagen Festival in Denmark in 2007.

Success at the Skagen Festival in Denmark

Three very different gigs at Skagen Festival in Denmark in July were great fun: FolkPort closed the night in a totally packed festival tent at Torvescenen thursday. Then FolkPort Acoustic did a very inspired matinee concert at Ruths hotel in old Skagen friday afternoon, and at last the total party concert at the Skaw Bar late night saturday. A great festival experience before FolkPort now takes some time off after five concerts in eight days!

The Spring Gigs leading up to this year's Festival Summer have been very good, and the repertoire for the Skagen Festival (5th to 8th of July) is ready and rehearsed.
