About Christopher Jaymes
Christopher Jaymes ---
Christopher Jaymes (born July 19, 1973) is the award-winning writer/director of the 2005-2006 festival hit film [In Memory of My Father], which reached cult status prior to its public distribution dates.
Born in Long Beach, California, he was an only child growing up in the household of his mother, Becky as his father was distant prior to the age of one. Most of his childhood was spent in Huntington and Laguna Beach until moving into a loft in downtown Los Angeles at the age of seventeen with a group of musicians and skateboarders.
His teens were filled with a range of activities including Rescue Scuba Diving, competitive snow skiing, acting classes, though it was the act of skateboarding boarding that landed him a Footlocker commercial and got things started within the entertainment industry. During that same period, he debuted in a lead role in CBS M.O.W. Murder in New Hampshire starring Helen Hunt.
At the age of eighteen, Christopher began playing the piano and six months later attended Berklee College of Music, Boston where he studied piano, arranging and orchestration. Immediately following his four terms at Berklee, he toured and recorded with various bands throughout the U.S. and Canada until deciding to stop for awhile in Ecuador and London, eventually returning to Los Angeles in 1994.
Between 1994 and 1996, he was a member of the conservatory of South Coast Repertory Theater in Costa Mesa where he performed several plays on both the Main and Second stages. From 1997 through 1999, he starred in numerous plays including the role Don Baker, the blind guitarist in "Butterflies Are Free" at the Matrix Theater in 1999, while also beginning to acquire film and television credits, including Father's Day, Party of Five, Chicago Hope, The Profiler amongst others.
From there, he started working behind the camera in different positions, such as editor, script supervisor, producer and director.
He has recently completed a novel about his experiences in post-Tsunami Thailand where he worked for six weeks assisting the cleanup efforts. He is a credited writer, actor, director, editor, musician and photographer.
