About LAW & ORDER SUV: Sport Utility Vehicle

Writer/Director Mark Porro, a New Jersey native (exit 163) and graduate of the Ohio State University, was lured to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career in 1984. Mark landed his first job on HILL STREET BLUES as ADA Simmons. Several television, film and stage roles followed including: EYES, COME DIE WITH ME/MIKE HAMMER, ANYTHING BUT LOVE, BABYLON 5, THE GOLDEN GIRLS, WEBSTER, TWO GUYS AND A GIRL, WALKER TEXAS RANGER, Phil Joanou’s ENTROPY and Robert Zemekis’ CASTAWAY. Mark wrote, produced and starred in the stand-up comedy film CLEAN & DRY.

LAW & ORDER: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE marks his directorial debut. When LAW & ORDER SVU debuted on television many, including Porro, unintentionally referred to it as “SUV.” That faux pas sparked the idea for his short film. He asked what if there was a LAW & ORDER where everything took place inside an SUV; the crime, the investigation, the trial and the epilog. Mark was advised to keep it simple, writing for only a few characters in such a small space. Twenty nine actors later the parody LAW & ORDER SUV was born.

LAW & ORDER: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE recently WON a Platinum Remi Award at the WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston.
