About Ellee Ven
UNSIGNED MUSIC MAGAZINE’S 2006 pick for VIDEO OF THE YEAR, Los Angeles native ellee ven would never have thought her pet project would be a critic’s pick, but since her April 2007 release YOUCANBUYME she’s got heads nodding and toes tapping. Nominated for 2007 POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR, INDEPENDENT CD OF THE YEAR & FOR VIDEO OF THE YEAR at the South Bay Music Awards and for DANCE SONG OF THE YEAR at the Los Angeles Music Awards, she’s beginning to see the light.
YOUCANBUYME is an admitted indulgence fusing dance jams and ballads created producers Reggie Dozier (Outkast, Joss Stone & Justin Timberlake), DJ SWAMP (Beck's DJ from 1996-2000 and contributor to albums by Kid Rock, The Crystal Method & Morcheeba), Antony Lee, DJ Solange, Trypsin & Prodéje. “My wish is to be less “genre specific’ as an artist and to put myself in front of different audiences”.
Creating a total experience for her fans, ellee ven stands firm that art has the power to move the masses. After a small amount of touring, ellee ven wanted to be billed with artists who she thought were like minded, to create an event that she would want to go to and in 2001, the first GIVE INTO THE GROOVE was held in Santa Monica, California. The benefit features original art by gathering the best new and emerging independent artists from the area in the name of a good cause. After five years, ellee ven’s annual Give Into The Groove event has enjoyed increased success traveling the nation. With the mantra “no gift is too big or too small”, the benefit’s goal is to inform people about organizations in need.
ellee ven has managed to hone in on a genre all her own called “groovetonics”. “Thanks to DJs, my vision of remaining open to all genres has become a reality. People appreciate the power of melody and the ability for songs to translate well in different genres and languages. It just comes down to what sounds good.” ellee ven’s CD/Vinyl remix series titled PROJECT 11 helped introduce ellee ven to DJs and audiences worldwide. “DJs control the play list… and they just want great songs”.
ellee ven’s site (www.elleeven.com) showcases the range and diversity of her music which she self titled, groovetonics: a mix of electronica, pop and rock. All of ellee ven’s releases can be found on line and in select retail outlets. ellee ven has been featured in Saturday Night Magazine, Music Connection, Campus Cicle, Billboard and has graced the cover of Unsigned Music Magazine and Saludos Hispanos. ellee ven’s music has charted on international DJ charts and radio. UNSIGNED MUSIC MAGAZINE also nominated ellee ven for 2005 ARTIST OF THE YEAR and her album FUNKY BOHEMIA for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

2004: ellee ven collaborates with turntablist DJ SWAMP (Beck, Morcheeba, Kid Rock) and ROLLING STONE: SONGS FROM FUNKY BOHEMIA becomes a dance club favorite worldwide, FMQB and DJ TIMES magazine choose the EP as a HOT CROSSOVER ADD. ellee ven is featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Music Connection, Campus Circle and the Honolulu Bulletin.
ellee ven has the opportunity to work with award-winning director Eric Zimmerman to release the DVD videography eleven by ellee ven, a combo DVD CD featuring vignettes, music videos and music. Over half a million people visit www.elleeven.com per annum.
2005: Funky Bohemia, introduces fans to a new and improved ellee ven. The album’s most popular songs are being seen and heard in retail super stores internationally. (ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH, ADIDAS, TOMMY HILFIGER, SHOP FOR LESS, IKEA, SAKS FIFTH AVENUE, MACY’S, BLOOMINGDALES, and other selected retail stores). ellee ven conceptualizes PROJECT 11, a cd/vinyl series FOR DJS ONLY. DJ TIMES charts her again and ellee ven tours the nation with her band promoting FUNKY BOHEMIA and the first volume of her DJ series, PROJECT 11.
2006: UNSIGNED MUSIC MAGAZINE declares ellee ven a favorite by making her a cover girl, nominating her for ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and for ALBUM OF THE YEAR. ellee ven’s video Under My Skin won VIDEO OF THE YEAR.
ellee ven continues work on her next full-length release titled YOUCANBUYME. The Project 11 series has remained on DJ charts internationally for over a year featuring the works of DJs Solange, Swamp, Chris Brophy, Dezrok, DJ Scotty Boy, Trypsin, Wady and Dave Gadbois, ellee ven’s music is in stores now and available on www.elleeven.com and cdbaby.com. 2007: The new year begins with ellee ven in the #3 position of WCNI’s “Controlled Voltage” Top Ten MySpace Artists and the release of Project 11 Volume 5.
Two songs from FUNKY BOHEMIA were licensed to Canadian pilot MVP.. Also, a remix of UNDERNEATH MY PILLOW was licensed to MAXIMUM WORKOUT, Volume 5 and to DESTINATION LOUNGE: LAS VEGAS.
The 11th month was the charm for ellee ven. ellee ven won a Unanimous Choice Award from the Los Angeles Music Awards for ELECTRO POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and South Bay Music Awards awarded ‘YOUCANBUYME’ VIDEO OF THE YEAR.
