Biography
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Raised in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Educated in Texas.
Exploring the spaceship Earth.
Living in a hotel in San Diego (2005-2006), accounts for the title of the CD  "San Diego Sessions"

Currenly living in a hotel in Vincennes, Indiana.

Robert started writing music while studying Architecture at Texas A&M in the early 1970’s. He attributes his poetic ability to his grandfather, saying “My mother had a lot of scrap books of her fathers poetry. I remember my grandmother saying that sometimes granddad would leave her a note in verse, saying poetically how he was going on a errand to the market or some other mundane task”.

While growing up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in the early 60’s, he was also inspired by the R&B sounds that were being recorded there. He notes that “At the time, every kid on the block was learning to play the guitar, and I was one of them”. In the early 1990’s Robert returned to his roots and collaborated on songs with some of the local writers.

Because his career in the construction industry has taken him virtually around the world, Robert has performed his songs in venues as far away as Thailand. “I once played for a Bedouin nomad and his wife while working in Kuwait. That was probably my most unusual audience, with a camel, goats and sheep adding to the desert ambience”.

More recently, Robert has been promoting the Enclave series of performances by songwriters in Austin, Texas. According to T.C Smythe (well known Texas musician), “It’s in a super secret location in South Austin”.

Texas Hill Country

The only time I get hoesick for my beloved Hill Country of Texas and dear old Canyon Lake is when I listen to my Bob Nathan cd's. I have a 400 cd changer and I play it in random mode and whenever one of his songs comes on I stop in my tracks no matter what i am doing. Such a joy. I miss Bob almost as I do a #3 dinner at Mi Tierra in San Antone
