About Carol Selick
CAROL, a native of New Jersey and a newcomer to the world of recording, has been singing all her life. At an early age she latched on to the sounds of country music and formed her own band, REDHANDED, playing many Atlantic City resorts and the Philadelphia Convention Center et. Tours of the Tri-State area followed and she then produced THE NEW JERSEY GRAND OPRY plus a children's version, the NEW JERSEY CHILDREN'S OPRY.
However, it was a meeting with veteran songwriter ROSE MARIE McCOY, another New Jersey native that turned things around. Rose Marie, who has written for all the greats from Ray Charles to Elvis, exposed Carol to the world of R&B, and other contemporary pop music and...Carol was hooked!
Rose Marie started using Carol as a back up singer on record dates, their friendship deepened, and Rose figured Carol had quite a future..what to do?
She called long time friend, Brit, songwriter and producer JOHNNY BRANDON, who was known in the USA for his work in the theatre as the writer/composer of hit Off Broadway musicals as well as countless recordings by Bill Haley, Theresa Brewer, to name a few. The result???
So long Ol' Opry and welcome Carol, a woman in search of love, life and a future in jazz, pop and blues!
