About 10 Years
The band members all grew up in the Eastern Tennessee city of Knoxville. They grew up on Axle and Slash, Mozart and Beethoven,and they grew up on intelligent lyrics with massive sounds exploding through their speakers. Influentially they are as diverse as they are personally-- an artist, a tennis champ, a rich kid, an outcast, and an introvert. Musically they state that they draw influence and inspiration from Nine Inch Nails and Deftones to Simon and Garfunkel and Tori Amos. To name a few.
While as a band they have only been playing together for a short time, as a band of brothers they have known each for a long time. Now, as a group they bring a flavor to the rock world that has not yet been tasted. The depth in their lyrics is a reflection of the passion they feel for the music they write. They have lessons to share, thoughts to ponder and pains to mourn and they do it through their music.
The sound 10 Years produces is the result of a perfectionist's ear and a fine craftsman's hands, honing the sound and mixing it with emotion and energy in a live show that is nothing short of amazing. The live show is where they thrive. Playing for an audience has always been their greatest pleasure and seeing the reaction to their songs brings forth its own emotional response. Many times they walk off the stage, not only sweating from the physical workout, but also wet eyed knowing others were affected so deeply by the onslaught of expressive sounds they've heard.
In 2004 10 Years shared the stage with the likes of Velvet Revolver and Sevendust as well as started working on material for their Republic/Universal Records debut. Like the career bands that came before them they are sure to leave a lasting impression on the music world for many years to come.
