About Cindy Nelson
Singer/songwriter, Cindy Nelson, is a performer as well as an acclaimed vocal & piano instructor. She has been singing and writing songs at a very young age, and began performing at 12, singing and playing piano in piano bars and restaurants. Cindy has also fronted several bands, from rock to punk, and has been in musicals, college operas . . . even a couple of vaudeville shows.
Cindy sharpened her skills by returning to college and getting a degree in music in just three years. She graduated cum laude at Sacramento State University, and was in the top ten of her class. Three months later she opened her own extremely successful music instruction enterprise, Bach to Basics.
She has recorded two of her own CD's. The first released Cd, "I CAN d," was recorded with some of the top musicians in Northern California, garnered her an international distribution contract with Tower Records and Bayside Entertainment. This album wound up in the hands of a respected Nashville producer, Neal James (REM, Bruce Springstien, Willie Nelson.) Working with Mr. James, Cindy completed her second CD at Creative Recording Studios, a master quality studio, with some of the finest musicians in the business. These included Byrd Burton (Nanci Griffith, Dan Fogelberg, Amazing Rhythm Aces); Darin Favorite (Collin Raye, Pam Tillis Band); Joe Koury (B.B. King, Eddie Raven); Bob "Funk Brother" Babbitt ( Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye); Jim "Turbo" Kirby (Roy Orbison's keyboardist); Dave Harrison (Edwin McCain Band); and Craig Krampf (Melissa Etheridge, The Motel's, Steve Perry, Kim Carnes, The Turtles.) The finished project, not released as of now, has already been submitted to major record labels by Mr. James, who continues to shop it around. These labels have indicated considerable interest and are still considering an offer.
A partial list of credits includes;
Her song "We're Not Falling From Grace," inspired by the tragedies of September 11, 2001, received considerable radio air play, and the video she produced of this song was played at the 9/11 Memorial Concerts held at New York City and Paris in 2002 and 2003.
Out of more than nine thousand tracks received, five of Cindy's songs were chosen to be placed in the database of MPX2000, a New York-based company which works for clients that are looking for songs for commercials, TV, and films. Tracks #3 and #8 ("I Could Be There for You," and "Intensity") were chosen to be used on the TNT/Warner Brothers "Witchblade" television series.
Paul Loggins Productions did a Billboard test on her last CD, "Hello," and six out of ten songs ranked the highest rating for commercial use and air play.
Cindy has been sought out to perform on several compilation CDs' locally and nationally, and has been asked to write music for other artists, churches, and schools.
Cindy Nelson is a highly respected musician and teacher. Everyone that has worked with her has been touched by her giving and creative spirit, her professionalism, and her relentless drive to attain her objectives in life.

“Running With Scissors”
International recording artist Cindy Nelson releases her new song recorded for the Oscar bound movie starring Annette Bening, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jill Clayburgh, Joseph Fiennes, Evan Rachel Wood and Alec Baldwin.
