About Bret Reilly
Bret Reilly is an accomplished Singer/Songwriter from New York who first found success in the music industry when his song, "Too Much of a Good Thing", landed on the "Dumb and Dumber" soundtrack. The success of "Too Much of a Good Thing" prompted further support from famed directors the Farrelly Brothers. They used Bret's song "All These Days" in their feature film, "There's Something About Mary" and paved the way for placement of another song, "It's Alright", in the Jim Carrey blockbuster, "Me, Myself and Irene."
These successes with Hollywood lead Bret to Los Angeles where he spent two years performing on a different stage as an off-the-wall standup comic. He also channeled his artistic energy into the production of a feature film inspired by his first solo record, "Stranger From The Side". The film titled "My Big One" is a harebrained comedy set in New York City. As art imitates life, Bret played the lead role of a musician who will do just about anything to get his big break.
After a three year hiatus spent exploring the reach of his creativity Bret felt it was time to return home to New York and focus on music once again. Drawing on the wealth of his experiences Bret spent the summer of 2003 writing an impressive collection of new material. With the looks of Sting and the star vocal quality of Coldplay' s Chris Martin, Bret Reilly combines the depth and sincerity of songwriters such as Elliott Smith, David Gray and Damien Rice with music that is brilliantly textured by the support of a full band and lyrically inspiring.
Bret is eager to record his second solo album. He will soon enter the studio with his focus back on creating music and a catalog full of new material.
